Purpose


To establish standards in regards to UNMC College of Pharmacy students receiving remissions. Remissions for the purposes of this policy are limited to “Non-Resident Tuition Waivers” and “Board of Regents Scholarships.”

Policy


  1. Non-Resident Tuition Waivers

    1. Non-Nebraska applicants to the UNMC College of Pharmacy (COP) will be reviewed consistent with the same academic and professional standards as required for resident applicants for admission into the program.
    2. The UNMC COP Admission’s Committee will make the final decision regarding a candidate’s application, either accepting or denying admission into the COP.
    3. During the offer of Admission, non-Nebraska residents will be notified of a “Non-Resident Tuition Waiver” which may be offered upon acceptance into the program. The amount of the “Non-Resident Tuition Waiver” will vary year to year based upon Board of Regent tuition rates, but will equal or slightly higher than Resident tuition rates.
    4. Adjustment of Non-Resident Waiver amounts will be at the discretion of the UNMC COP Dean and Executive Leadership Team.
  2. Board of Regents Scholarships

    1. The Board of Regents Scholarship (aka The UNMC Regents Scholarship for Academic Excellence) is awarded to the top 14 students within the COP based upon the following criterion:
      1. Five 4th Year (P4) Pharmacy students with the highest cumulative COP GPA.
      2. Four 3rd Year (P3) Pharmacy students with the highest cumulative COP GPA.
      3. Three 2nd Year (P2) Pharmacy students with the highest cumulative COP GPA.
      4. Two 1st Year 4th (P) Pharmacy students with the highest undergraduate GPA.
    2. Only Nebraska residents are eligible for Board of Regent Scholarships.
