Military Tuition Assistance

Government Tuition Assistance may be used by submitting an approved Tuition Assistance Form to the Student Accounts office, studentaccts@unmc.edu. Students are responsible for payment of books, fees, and tuition not covered by Tuition Assistance. For more information, a student can contact their regional education service specialist or finaid@unmc.edu

Veteran Education Benefits

In compliance with Section 103 of the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018, the University of Nebraska Medical Center will not impose a late fee, deny access to facilities or services, or assess any other penalty against a veteran or eligible dependent due to a late payment of tuition and/or fees from the VA, so long as the payment is received to the University of Nebraska Medical Center within 90 days after the date on which the University certifies or invoices for tuition and fees. This restriction does not apply in cases where the student owes additional payment to the University of Nebraska Medical Center beyond the amount of the tuition and fee payment from the VA.

Yellow Ribbon Program

The University of Nebraska Medical Center is a Yellow Ribbon participant to help bridge the financial gap between the Post-9/11 GI Bill® annual cap and the cost of tuition and fees for an unlimited number of students. If you:

  • are eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® at 100% benefit status (determined by the VA)
  • are not an active duty service member (or the spouse of an active duty service member)
  • and are enrolled in one of the programs below.

Veteran Services

There is a certifying official on the UNMC Omaha campus located in the Financial Aid department. The official is able to assist/guide a veteran student with any University or education benefit matter, by phone, email, zoom or in person.
