RADI 720 DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY 4 Credit Hours

ELECTIVE

This elective is recommended to students interested in learning about diagnostic radiology. Hybrid (live and online) rotation, including structured didactic teaching with emphasis on thoracic, abdominal, neurologic, and musculoskeletal imaging. Introduction to interpreting chest, abdomen, and musculoskeletal x-rays and cross-sectional imaging, radiologic terminology, radiation exposure and protection. Weekly reading room experiences to learn about film interpretation, observe fluoroscopic examinations, and other radiologic procedures. All didactic teaching is at the University Tower with reading room experiences at the main hospital, Buffett Cancer Center, Olson Center, and Lauritzen Outpatient Center. Canvas access required. An email with course instructions will be sent out the week prior to the rotation. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks, except April and December.

RADI 727 INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY 4 Credit Hours

SUB-INTERN

This elective exposes the student to the clinical side of radiology. Interventional Radiology is patient oriented and students are encouraged to participate in pre-procedure workup, observation and performance of procedures, and post procedure care. Didactic sessions are conducted every morning, where cases of the day and completed cases from the day before are discussed. Interventional Radiology encompasses most specialties, including peripheral vascular disease, oncology, surgery, internal medicine, ob/gyn, urology, pediatrics, pathology, and neurology to name a few. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks, except December.

RADI 760 RADIOLOGY AWAY CLINICAL 4 Credit Hours

SUB-INTERN

A rotation at another educational institution requiring entry through third-party application platforms (e.g., VSLO), often associated with an outside academic institution or residency program. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks.

Prerequisite:  An approved Away Rotation Application. Not open to visiting students.

RADI 761 RADIOLOGY AWAY NON-CLINICAL 4 Credit Hours

ELECTIVE

A rotation at another educational institution requiring entry through third-party application platforms (e.g., VSLO), often associated with an outside academic institution or residency program. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks.

Prerequisite:  An approved Away Rotation Application. Not open to visiting students.

RADI 764 RADIOLOGY OFF-CAMPUS PRECEPTORSHIP 4 Credit Hours

SUB-INTERN

A pre-arranged rotation occurring under the supervision of volunteer faculty not accessed through a third-party application platform, usually at a regional private clinic within the state of Nebraska. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks.

Prerequisite:  RADI 720 and an approved Off-Campus Preceptorship Application. Not open to visiting students.
