OBGY 710 ADVANCED OUTPATIENT OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY 4 Credit Hours

ELECTIVE

General obstetrics and gynecologic clinic experience. Conferences are held with the faculty to discuss special problem areas in obstetrics and gynecology. This elective does not include participation in inpatient activities. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks.

OBGY 720 ADVANCED INPATIENT OBSTETRICS 4 Credit Hours

SUB-INTERN

This is a Nebraska Medical Center Hospital inpatient service at an advanced level emphasizing obstetrics, designed to increase individual competence. There is daily participation in staff seminars and teaching activities. This inpatient experience includes both normal and high-risk obstetrical cases. Students will be involved in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. Students will do a variety of day shifts and night shifts. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks.

OBGY 721 GYNECOLOGIC ONCOLOGY 4 Credit Hours

SUB-INTERN

A Nebraska Medical Center Hospital service including both inpatient and outpatient activities. Students will evaluate patients in clinics, assist with operative procedures, and participate in daily rounds on gynecologic oncology patients. Students will also participate in conferences including tumor board and GYN cancer conference, and Pathology conference. A presentation on a relevant topic chosen by the student is encouraged, but not required, during the rotation, or a case report for publication, if time allows. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks.

OBGY 722 REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGY AND INFERTILITY 4 Credit Hours

ELECTIVE

Students on this rotation will work mainly at the Heartland Center. This is mainly an outpatient service; however, surgical procedures and hospitalized patients make up a portion of the experience. Students will evaluate patients, assist with operative procedures, participate in hospital rounds as indicated and participate in weekly conferences in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. A presentation on a relevant topic chosen by the student is encouraged during the rotation. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks. Site: Heartland Center for Reproductive Medicine.

OBGY 725 MATERNAL FETAL MEDICINE/ULTRASOUND 4 Credit Hours

ELECTIVE

This rotation will primarily take place at UNMC. If needed, students might rotate at UNMC and Methodist. Students will spend 4 weeks working with outpatient and antepartum patients. Students will work with sonographers and MFM physicians in the Prenatal Diagnostic Center at the Olson Center for Women's Health. Students will evaluate patients in high-risk clinics and participate in conferences including Perinatal Conference, Grand Rounds, and Case Conferences. Students will learn basic ultrasound skills which will include hands on scanning and one to two genetic counseling appointments with ultrasound each week. A presentation on an ultrasound topic chosen by the student and presented at Perinatal Conference the third or fourth week of the rotation is encouraged. This course is designed for students who anticipate a career involving the care of pregnant women and wish to increase their understanding of pregnancy complications. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks.

OBGY 760 AWAY OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY ELECTIVE 4 Credit Hours

ELECTIVE

Electives are arranged by the student in other geographical teaching settings. Sites for training include other university programs, private hospitals, or residency programs. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks.
