RONC 722 RADIATION ONCOLOGY 4 Credit Hours
ELECTIVE
Most patients with cancer will receive radiation therapy at some point. This elective permits a concentrated exposure to using radiotherapy as a therapeutic means for curative and palliative treatment. The emphasis will be exploring the role of radiation therapy across various malignancies and the evaluation of patients undergoing treatment with the various radiation therapy modalities. RONC 723 PRINCIPLES OF ONCOLOGY SUB-INTERNSHIP 4 Credit Hours
SUB-INTERN
With the increase in cancer incidence of cancer and improving survival rates, every clinician can improve their care to a large subset of their patients by understanding evidence-based diagnosis, workup, treatment, and survivorship through a multidisciplinary lens. We will equip you to understand oncologic principles, where to find current guidelines, how to formulate a multidisciplinary plan (Surgery, Systemic Therapy, Radiotherapy), and how to care for patients long after their diagnosis and treatment. Students will participate in the clinic, didactics, tumor boards, and multidisciplinary clinics. Rotations Offered: Each 4 weeks. Site: The Fred Pamela Buffet Cancer Center - Department of Oncology, 1st floor.
Prerequisite: Intended for students with specific interest in the field of Radiation Oncology.
