  1. GPA Calculation
    1. GPAs are calculated by multiplying each course’s quality points by its credit hours, adding the results, and dividing by the total credit hours with quality points. Pass/Fail courses are excluded.
  2. Minimum Grades / Repeating Courses
    1. All required core courses must be completed with a grade of B- (2.67) or higher. A student may repeat any course with a grade below B (3.00) with approval from their academic advisor, course instructor, and the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. The student must notify the Office of the Registrar when re-registering. Both grades remain on the transcript, but only the most recent grade counts toward the GPA.
  3. Research Projects
    1. Research projects receive Pass/Fail grades only.  This applies to courses that support independent study.
  4. Incomplete Grades (“I”)
    1. An “I” grade may be assigned when a student, due to extenuating circumstances (e.g., illness, military service, hardship, or family death), has substantially completed coursework but cannot finish the remaining requirements. The instructor determines how and when the work will be completed. Instructors are encouraged to work in consultation with the student. If the instructor is unavailable, the department chair for the department offering the course will oversee the completion and submit the final grade.
      1. Traditional Programs
        1. Timeline for Completion – Traditional Programs
          1. An Incomplete must be resolved within one semester, or it will automatically convert to an F grade. Extensions must be approved by the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs before the grade converts.
        2. Enrollment Restriction – Traditional Programs
          1. Students with two or more active Incomplete grades may not enroll in new courses until fewer than two remain.
