Overview

The Primary Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP-PC) focuses on the diagnostic reasoning, assessment and management of the acute care needs of children from birth to 21 years. The PNP has advanced knowledge and skills in physical and psychosocial assessment to meet the primary health care needs of children. They emphasize health care management, disease prevention and health promotion while playing a key role in involving and educating family members to support the patient’s plan of care.

Career opportunities include, outpatient clinics, K- 12 schools, private practice, health departments or other community agencies.
