Purpose
The Diagnostic Cytology Program maintains an admission policy which ensures that qualified applicants are selected to fill student positions.
Academic Requirements
Required Degree
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in any field, from a regionally accredited institution prior to Orientation in August. Degrees with a science background are preferred but not required.
NOTE: To apply to the program, applicants located in California or applying to a California clinical placement location are required to have a bachelor’s degree with specific course requirements: 20 semester or equivalent quarter units of biological science; 8 semester or equivalent quarter units of chemistry; 3 semester or equivalent quarter units of mathematics.

Preferences
- An overall GPA of higher than 2.8 (on 4.0 scale) at time of application submission.
- Degrees with a science background.
- Computer and/or previous health care experience.
Other Requirements
Candidates for admission are required to submit a completed application form and submit official transcripts of all college work (official course-by-course evaluations for foreign transcripts).
