Overview

The online Diagnostic Cytology Degree Advancement Option is designed for working Cytologists looking for an opportunity to earn an advanced degree while continuing to work in their home communities. Applicants must be a graduate from the UNMC Cytotechnology Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program.

Completely Online

This program is available through distance education technology, mostly asynchronous online activities, one on one Zoom office hours, E-learning modules, and independent reading.

Study at your own pace

This program may be completed by qualified cytologists at their own pace in the given timeline. The program faculty will work with you, as a qualified candidate, to mentor the Plan of Study that includes coursework and a capstone project designed to match your clinical and educational background with your professional goals.

Clinical Competencies in Workplace

All slide screening competencies can be documented at the student’s workplace or assessed as proctored, virtual, simulated activities. You may be closer than you think to earning your Master’s degree in Diagnostic Cytology.
