Dental Student Books, Equipment & Supply Policy
Books
Students will be responsible for obtaining assigned books.
COD Educational Infrastructure Assessment (Moratorium for 2026-2027; dental students)
The COD Educational Infrastructure Assessment supports the resources, personnel, and operational systems essential to pre-clinical and clinical dental education. It funds the purchase, maintenance, and management of dental instruments, materials, laboratory supplies, infection control and sterilization operations, clinic infrastructure, student teaching assistants and tutors, travel-rotation support, clinical clothing, and related materials management services. This assessment ensures students have reliable access to the tools, facilities, and support needed for safe, effective, and accreditation-compliant dental education.
COD Equipment & Technology Replacement & Maintenance Fee
The COD Equipment & Technology Replacement & Maintenance Fee supports the maintenance, repair, replacement, and lifecycle management of the specialized equipment and technology essential to Dentistry, Dental Hygiene, and postdoctoral education. It funds clinical, laboratory, simulation, and instructional equipment; electronic dental record systems; software licensing and upgrades; hardware and networked devices; and integrated digital dentistry technologies such as imaging, CAD/CAM, scanning, milling, and simulation systems. This fee ensures students and residents have consistent access to safe, reliable, and up-to-date equipment and technology necessary for high-quality education, clinical training, and accreditation compliance.
For more information, please refer to the Student Handbook.
Student & Resident Wellness Support Fee
The Student & Resident Wellness Support Fee is established to provide dedicated, sustainable funding for programs, services, and resources that support the physical, mental, emotional, and professional well-being of dental students, dental hygiene students, and residents. The intensity of dental education and clinical training places learners at increased risk for stress, burnout, musculoskeletal injury, and mental health challenges. This fee directly addresses those risks by supporting targeted wellness initiatives that enhance learner resilience, promote academic and clinical success, and foster a healthy learning and patient care environment.
Withdrawal of Students
If a student leaves the program before graduation, all issued equipment and supplies must be returned before the College will authorize any University tuition and general fee refunds, release of transcripts and letters of recommendation or any other information as determined by the College.
