The purpose of the Certificate in Applied Health Informatics is to provide healthcare professionals with an academic foundation in health informatics, focusing on preparing current and future healthcare professionals with the skills necessary to effectively apply health informatics in practice to improve the quality and safety of patient care. A student earning the certificate must successfully complete four courses (12 credit hours); two courses (6 credit hours) must focus on Health Informatics. A list of eligible courses can be found below. Students completing the certificate program may elect to continue their studies to earn a Master of Healthcare Delivery Science.
