UNMC offers the PhD degree in a variety of fields within the biomedical sciences, nursing, applied behavior analysis, and public health. Doctoral training in these fields can serve as a springboard to careers in the public and private sectors, and includes a wide range of career opportunities in scientific research, drug discovery & design, policy & regulatory affairs, science/medical writing & communication, counseling and behavioral health, health informatics/bioinformatics, and higher education.
All UNMC students pursuing the PhD degree must satisfy general requirements established by the University of Nebraska Graduate College and UNMC Graduate Studies (see Requirements for Graduate Degrees), as well as the specific requirements of each PhD program (detailed in this section).
