PhD Curriculum

General Requirements

  • Completion of coursework. 
  • Completion of the comprehensive examination.
  • Completion of a research project consistent with a PhD level of achievement.
  • Completion and successful defense of a doctoral dissertation.
  • Concurrence of the mentor and the student's Supervisory Committee.

Coursework

For graduate students who have taken post-baccalaureate coursework at other institutions, the IGPBS - Cancer Research Graduate Committee will evaluate that coursework on an individual basis to determine to what extent it is equivalent to the required courses. If previous coursework is determined to be equivalent, the Graduate Committee will exempt the student from taking the required courses.

MD/PhD Curriculum
