The Applied Behavior Analysis MS Program mission is to graduate students who have met high levels of academic excellence in clinical and research skills in behavior analysis. The ABA Program trains students to provide person-centered, culturally responsive, and collaborative services for individuals across the lifespan, including those with neurodevelopmental disabilities, to promote behavioral health outcomes. Students who complete the program will be eligible to sit for the examination administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® [www.BACB.com] for certification as Board Certified Behavior Analysts® (BCBA®). Students in the program complete 51-54 credit hours to earn a Master of Science Degree in Psychology. The Master of Science - ABA Program typically takes two years of full-time study to complete.
MS Curriculum
All students must complete the required courses, and practicum experience, which include the Behavior Analyst Certification Board requirements to sit for the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) exam. Students are required to complete a Research other than Thesis project (MMI 896). Students may choose to complete a Thesis (MMI 899) instead of Research other than Thesis with approval of their advisor and committee but need to be aware that once Thesis path is approved in their program of study, they may not switch back to Research other than Thesis and there are different graduation deadline requirements for Thesis students than for non-Thesis students that they are required to follow to successfully graduate.
